Seonam Eco Park
Seonam Sewage Treatment Plant, located in Magok-dong, treats sewage from 9 districts of Seoul and Gwangmyeong. The total site area of the plant is 1,065,000㎡. The plant processing 2 million tons of sewage a day and provides a kids playground, futsal facility, pond and trail, while the Meta Sequoia Trail offers unforgettable views.
Gangseo Hangang Park
An ecological park created on the southern banks of the Hangang River between Banghwa Bridge and Haengju Bridge. The park opened on July 1, 2002. Spread over an area of 340,000㎡, catchments and lowlands were created with marsh and aquatic plants. The park has reed fields, willow forests and a migratory bird observatory. It provides a variety of trails. The wetland ecosystem is maintained with fish, amphibians and insects in harmony with aquatic plants, and migratory birds, which visit this place every season.
Bird Observatory
The observatory was installed adjacent to the Hangang River so that people can observe and take pictures of migratory birds at a closer distance. As the information center lends binoculars free of charge, visitors can observe various migratory birds, including mallard ducks and dabchicks up close.
Observation Deck
In addition, an observation deck was installed to provide a closer view of fish, amphibians and insects living in the marshes so that people can learn and experience the joys of nature while walking in the wetlands.
Nurse Ginkgo Tree (Sangsa Village)
This huge ginkgo tree is over 410 years old and has a circumference of 445cm. It has been designated by Seoul City as a nurse tree. The tree's magnificent appearance creates an air of respect, particularly when its leaves become golden yellow in the autumn.
