Location
It is located in the center of the Yeongdong region east of the Baekdudaegan Mountain Range in Gangwon-do. It borders the East Sea to the east, Pyeongchang-gun and Jeongseon-gun to the west, Donghae City to the south and Yangyang-gun to the north.
